Assessment Software Cloud Ready out of the Box. (It's Not)
I finished my study on 23 different Assessment Applications designed for Therapists and Psychologists. The group that ordered the information hasn’t followed up after the summary report which was very short.
Are there any standard applications that we have secure enough to run from a cloud. Answer, No.
But what they missed out on was there is a solution and it’s called a private cloud which isn’t a cloud but a virtual environment that has a physical location that complies 100% with NIST suggestions and the current and proposed HIPAA rules.
I’ve created a website specific to Cloud Networks even if it’s not cloud networks I service. They will be a thing for specific applications and most likely will never be designed for the medical industry based on core functions of a cloud network.
Don’t get me wrong, cloud networks do have their place but it isn’t a place you need to be storing your PHI.
That includes that file sharing on Google, MSN, Hotmail etc. Uploading to any of those locations is as NIST advises a breach. (Interesting that it would be those that don’t have a server and work by exchanging data as your source of the breach. )
More in the website www.SeaBlueCloud.Com which is my offering to the professional services industry. With a security background and some good old fashioned researcher’s knowledge it is only as secure as my weakest link. I'll train you so it's not you as that link.
Sea Blue Cloud: What is Sea Blue Cloud? Sea Blue Cloud .Com is not a cloud service but a Virtual Private Network Infrastructure for those that need to follow strict guidelines based on industry.
