How do I set up Thinkvantage Access Connections?
I did read the how to post a question: Check!
Computer System Information:
Windows XP Service Pack 3
IBM Thinkpad T61(Laptop)
Centrino Duo CPU 2Ghz T7300
778Mhz 1.96GB Ram
(I got this information by right clicking on My Computer then Left clicking on Properties.)
I see the wireless network I want to connect to, I click connect, and get a pop-up that says: "Unable to connect to the selected wireless network. You may need to configure your system to support the authentication method that is in use. Do you want to configure now?"
Here I clicked "Yes" and get "Edit Profile."
1. Network Name
2. Connection type
3. Wireless mode
4. Wireless security type
5. Advanced configuration
Network name is the wireless network I want to connect to
Connection type is set to "infastructure"
Wireless mode is set to Auto
The utility sees my Netgear wireless but doesn't connect.
I don't know how I setup the router?
From the sounds of things it appears that you need to either configure the Netgear wireless router or if you have the configuration login via wireless information you need to supply that to your Lenovo Connection manager aka Thinkvantage Access Connections panel.
If you need help on the Netgear wireless router and a short guide to the setup and configuration send in the model number. Or even better and faster you can search support . netgear.com for the users getting started guide or quick guide. That should offer the information you need to configure the connection settings or retrieve them.
