To be able to offer support we need to collect some information about your computer.
All good service technicians know it's important to document system information. Even if the fix only takes a few minutes good detailed service logs need to be created.
We start off with asking you for the Make, Model, and Manufacturer of the computer and what Operating System you are using to include the Major Version and Minor software version. We also would like to document service packs and updates.
For some, the collection of system information might seem difficult and we know firsthand doing things manually isn't always the best method and never is fastest. That's why we build small applications called scripts that will gather up all the information we need to document your system for you.
We have scripts for all Microsoft Operating systems that will create text files with all the system information we need to start troubleshooting your computer. Once we have some basic information and we have agreed on the best service tier we will attach the scripts for you to download. If this is remote access support we will run the scripts for you to collect the information for your service documentation.
Documenting and Discovery: During our troubleshooting we document everything we can to better predict and resolve issues that might come later. Think of this as your computers maintenance record as well.
