With a static page SideWiki Comments can show up in 4 or more locations all commenting about the same page. Google SideWiki even lists pages that have been hashed with the Javascript that attempts to make the SideWiki unreadable but you can still post just that the post will be linked to the hash that was used at the time. It's Good and Bad in that if the hashed post is linked out to a blog you have then to monitor and comment on the same hashed page not the standard default page that you might have.
(The JavaScript Hash Blocking idea just adds more work for you in the long run.)
So now that we know you can post a comment on a static page 4 times or more on the same displayed page let's work on making that page no more than 2 possible postings.
Webmasters should know about Google Web Tools and should setup the domain to be indexed to www. only. Then you should have a rewrite or a redirect when visitors come in without the www. that will really help you in the long run.
Picture every static page you have setup with 4 SideWiki comments. That would mean you would have to make 4 comments yourself as the site owner.
Keep your static pages clean from the JavaScript Hash so you know when a comment is posted and know where it is posted.
You can redirect to the default page when nothing follows the final "/" in the domain as well. This will put all comments in a single location of your home page if you follow the www. redirect and the / missing page name redirect.
If you are interested in how to setup the script to redirect to the actual named home page just ask.
Dynamic Pages and SideWiki Comments I'll cover this in a separate post due to the length and possibilities .
