Wireless Communications Setup and Configuration
When you start thinking wireless you might be thinking of a simple wireless router placed on top of your computer desk that gives you just about 2 or 3 rooms of coverage in your home.
This type of setup is generally what your BestBuy's and local computer stores will have you do.
We would suggest that you think a little bit more in regards to your area of coverage and we can help you cover just about any size area you would like and that you can afford.
One of our technicians was working with Clearwire (Clearwire.com) setting up and designing city wide wireless systems. Typically running into more than 500 Repeater and Access points in a single network.
We don't expect private users to want that type of coverage but we want you to know that when it comes to RF data communications we have been connecting mobile devices online before you had the Internet.
In the 80's Ham Radio Operators would transmit data using Packet Controllers (TNC). We would connect to a local repeater and then connect from there to the next repeater. Soon we would find that we were communicating across the country from a simple green screen computer.
In the 90's we communicated between Italy and the USA on simple FM bands transmitting text messages to others. Now we have global wireless communications.
Why the history? Because we want you to know that Wireless Communications for Data devices has been around for many years. It just wasn't that practical to use and you needed to be a bit more technical.
Now, let's look at a typical wireless setup for your home and garden coverage area.
