How to Use the SideWiki Checker from Xtreme Computer

Enter your Domain Name. This is the full domain including the www.

Leave the Website Page blank if you are testing default document roots. Enter the page name if that is the page you are testing.

Google indexes based on the page name which will make www.xtremecomputer.com/ different from www.xtremecomputer.com/default.asp so test different methods to make sure you cover your pages.

Using Query Strings: Because of a few really bad spammers I'm limited the query string length to 250 characters. Some pages have over 500 characters and testing shows the system can handle them just fine.

Do not enter the ? Question Mark at the beginning of your Query String. But you must enter everything else as it appears at your site or the site you are testing.

The Return Domain Status code checks to make sure the page you are testing is accessible from the Internet. If it reads 200 you are set.

The Total Comments has been 100% correct in all the testing. But, can be off if the reporting source is down or zero activity has been reported to the webpage after the comment was posted. The variables are the remote sites.

The Viewer we have online sometimes does not show all or any of the comments. We have noticed that Google's Feed doesn't always display correctly. If you have the Google Toolbar with SideWiki you can click the link to view the page and check the comments directly.

This system has a full API that will monitor every page visited on any site in the world. You will need the API key and Account with us to be allowed access.

Our system only reports the Page and SideWiki count. We do not record comments or even view them from our API. Monitoring the Content is the responsibility of the WebSite Owner or Admin. We do have people that will monitor each comment if you would like. Please contact us for details.

SideWiki by Google is fast becoming one of the biggest topics on the Internet today.

More and More webmasters are looking to OPT-OUT of the SideWiki while others are looking at SideWiki as a new way of allowing the public to talk about your website, business or postings without joining the site.

Find out how you can monitor all your pages no matter how they are formed with our API.

Register and Contact us for more information and for our Beta Testing Program.

If you find any bugs or sites that you know have comments be sure to check that you are not using a ? question mark in query strings.

Also make sure you enter the www. before the domain.

Murray
