This announcement is for all the new computer technicians in the field. It's a tough market and we seem to have filled it up good. If you have good working skills, honest and have so much pride and integrity in your bones that it hurts then you might like to write up your introduction and allow me to post your information here.

Finding the Perfect Technician for your electronics.

Most likely you're a local tech and you might be thinking what in the world is Murray doing now.

Well, its time to help out local businesses by helping out those technicians that are true to the industry.

If you haven't noticed About . Com has started it's marketing campaign with the review process again. About let's say does SEO attacks on local cities and directly confuses business owners thinking they are actually helping.

Here's a tip: Google this line. (copy and paste include the quotes)

"Where Can I Take My Computer for Repair" site:about.com

It's an old trick that was used way before About was about and before The New Your Times Company owned them. It's all about selling advertising space on their sites and it's all in good fun and marketing skills. But you ask if they are helping you as a technician in any of the 6,500 plus cities the same message is web spammed to.

Let me get back on point. Last November I started talking to local business owners that I just didn't have time to take care of. I'd wish I had a tech to hand off a customer to. But it's more than that. If I offered a name I would have to know they could do the job.

Back in the 90's when I was working technical field service overseas I knew personally more than 200 field technicians and all 10 bench technicians in Italy. I could tell you not a single bench person would want to do the field technicians job and vice versa. We all have our nitch markets, our special talents and our interests.

For me, it's ECM and I've been good that that since the 80's. But I also like editing server global profiles and locking down networks for work and not play. It's all part of ECM and EM. (E=Electronic, C=Counter, M=Measures)

What I would like to get going is a training lab with a few local technicians that are seriously in the business and would be willing to work on projects as a team. There are things in the industry coming up that are bigger than us all and I don't want to see it outsourced because local technicians are not ready.

I'm inviting you to send a note with your contact information and pick a place that has no computers so we can talk. The more the better because having a resource pool is what all small businesses and field technicians really need.

Talk to you all soon.

Murray

Side Note: If you are wondering who's behind this all and why Baton Rouge it's simple, family and I've stopped traveling the world.

If you're a web designer and I mean a Photoshop, Camera Packing, Content Building Guru I would really like to see your work and add you to the list of Gurus. Also if you're into refurbishing old systems (P4 Dual and older) I would like you to not follow me but wait for me to send you equipment. I typically try to speed things up but there are people that need a good working computer slow or slower I need one of the good technicians that can rebuild a curbed computer and make it work for a family that doesn't have a computer.

If you're a technician and you have in the past worked with other techs feel free to drop me a line. If you've never experience a technical group before keep looking back here as I add the people I think will help the local community in the IT realm.
